RIDER GUIDELINES

Our Rider Rules of Conduct

OUR RULES OF RIDER CONDUCT DEFINE THE KINDS OF ACTIONS THAT ARE PROHIBITED ON ALL VEHICLES, AND AT GTA BUS STOPS AND TRANSIT CENTERS.

To make your ride comfortable and safe, Grant Transit Authority’s “Rules of Conduct” tell you the behaviors that are not allowed on GTA buses, at bus stops and in or around bus shelters. Please respect the rights of other riders and follow the rules that are posted in the buses. Our drivers and supervisors, and local law enforcement work together to make your experience with GTA a pleasant one. Violators of these rules may be excluded from service.

Comments should be mailed to:
GTA
PO Box 870
Moses Lake, WA 98837

We ask that you respect the rights of other riders and follow the rules below. Violators may be subject to exclusion from service. Prohibited conduct includes, but is not limited to:

  1. Discarding litter other than in designated receptacles
  2. Distracting or disturbing drivers
  3. Disturbing other riders with loud, harmful or harassing behavior
  4. Using profanity
  5. Eating or Drinking on the bus
  6. Destroying or otherwise damaging property of GTA
  7. Using tobacco
  8. Using alcoholic beverages or controlled substances
  9. Carrying weapons
  10. Playing music that can be heard by others
  11. Sleeping, lying down or occupying more than one seat

Passengers are permitted to carry on board two bags or parcels per adult to ensure space for other passengers.

Standing Passengers are permitted only when they can hold onto the handrails or handholds on seats (if the bus is so equipped).

Always flag the bus! The driver will be better able to see you and stop for you.

Buses can stop at all locations indicated on the schedules and maps. Buses provide curbside service and do not enter most parking lots. Passengers must be at the stop location and indicate to the driver of the approaching bus that they intend to board with an overhead wave of the arm.

Occasionally, route “deviations” may occur. Please allow a little extra time for your trip.

Those with disabilities have seating designated for them at the front of the bus. Those using walkers or wheelchairs can board the bus using the wheelchair lift or ramp.
